Have you ever heard about bauxite caves? We think that you know this name , but we want to tell you what it is. Bauxite is a sedimentary rock which is used to produce aluminium . Its name derives from french , les Baux de Provence , where there were born the first caves. But we don’t have to go to France to search a cave, because in the beautiful city of Otranto there is a Bauxite cave ! It was used from 1940 to 1976. It’s a beautiful open sky cave and it’s a wonderful place that you must visit if you go to Otranto !!
